The historic Royal Hawaiian Estates just got a facelift! During the summer of 2021, this iconic, desert-tropical community underwent a significant restoration of structural beams and new exterior paint, using a color palette based on a forensic study that confirmed the original 1961 Donald Wexler/Richard Harrison color scheme. We invite you to visit this updated community in appreciation of their ongoing restoration to its original 1961 appearance!
With 40 units in 12 buildings, the Royal Hawaiian Estates is Palm Springs’ first historic residential district as honored by the Palm Springs City Council in 2010. Known for its tiki-inspired Polynesian architecture, we invite you to a relaxing self-guided tour of this community, featuring iconic “tiki apexes”, “flying sevens”, and roofline “teeth” and “ladder extensions”– many of which were added and newly restored. After touring the interiors of a quarter of their featured homes, take time to relax on the pool deck, enjoying Dole Whip and a cool beverage while soaking up the hip, beatnik, tiki vibe!
Following the morning and early afternoon neighborhood home tours, we invite you to enjoy a separate ticketed, late afternoon cocktail party featuring Royal Hawaiian Estates signature cocktails, vintage music, and light snacks.
A portion of event proceeds will support ongoing restoration and modernization of the Royal Hawaiian Estates community.
