Come celebrate Edith Farnsworth, support the Edith Farnsworth House, and enjoy an afternoon of white wine, prosecco and hors d'oeuvres at a midcentury modern Kings Point residence, designed by desert modernist architect William Krisel, AIA in 1969, overlooking the Indian Canyons Golf Resort.
The interior of this stunning home, recently featured in the October 2021 issue of Palm Springs Life, was designed by Christopher Kennedy to be a Palm Springs home with a ‘James Bond Villain Lair’ theme. Not to be missed! Tour the home and meet fellow Edith Farnsworth enthusiasts.
The iconic Edith Farnsworth House, completed in 1951 and located south of Chicago, was commissioned by Edith Farnsworth to be her country house, and designed by Mies van der Rohe.
In honor of the house’s patron, it was officially renamed Edith Farnsworth House as part of the National Trust’s campaign for ‘Where Women Made History’ (WWMH). Farnsworth Executive Director & Curator Scott Mehaffey and Christina Morris of the WWMH, will be present to mingle and give some brief remarks.
All guests will receive a copy of “Edith B. Farnsworth,” a limited-edition new commemorative booklet by University of New Mexico Professor of Architecture, Nora Wendl.
Consider supporting at the higher ticket level and you’ll also receive an Edith Farnsworth “FEARLESS” tee shirt (sized to your request); a signed and numbered photograph of the “Edith Farnsworth Reconsidered” period interior by Chicago-based architectural photographer William Zbaren; and a limited-edition numbered and engraved tile, crafted from the original 1951 travertine paving reclaimed from the recently restored lower terrace of the Edith Farnsworth House. All ticket proceeds benefit the Edith Farnsworth House/National Trust for Historic Sites.
